Clean the Coffee Maker

Clean the Coffee Maker

Every once in a while you have to clean the coffee maker. Though you may believe it is clean there are deposits inside like lime scale and minerals can that mess up the great taste of your coffee. The cleaning process is quite simple and for the coffee connoisseur you will notice the difference right away.

There are actually several different methods that you can use to clean the coffee maker. A tried and true method is to run white vinegar through the system, followed by a pot of clear water. Don’t laugh folks! It really does work. This is a trick I learned from my grandmother.

Follow these steps to clean the coffee maker and you’ll be glad you did!

1.       Fill the urn with 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water

2.       Place a filter in the basket

3.       Pour the water into the coffee maker just as if you were making a pot of coffee There will be a vinegar small that will permeate the room. It won’t last long and you can open a window for ventilation.

4.       Throw away the filter. Notice the amount of sediment in it!

5.       Run a pot of clear water through the system to rinse it. In fact, it may be a good idea to run a second pot through as well.

It depends on the quality of your water, but cleaning like this about once a month will keep that cup of java tasting great, and the time taken to clean the coffee maker is well worth the effort!

Kitchen Cleaning Tips

Kitchen Cleaning may not be among the most favorite things for people to do, but it definitely needs to be done! The kitchen is probably the most used room in your house, and it doesn’t take long to look like a disaster area. Following these tips can have your kitchen clean in no time flat!

Step 1 – Dishes

The first step to take in kitchen cleaning is to do the dishes. If you have a dishwasher then this part is easy. Rinse them off and get the load running. If you don’t, then start with the plates and glasses, silverware, and then the pots and pans.

Step 2 – Clean the Sink

Next on the list is cleaning the sink. Scrub it out thoroughly with a scouring powder, or a little dish liquid and a scrub sponge using hot water to clean it thoroughly. Baking soda can also be used to clean the sink and works quite well.

Step 3 – Clean the Appliances

Clean your appliances now. Don’t wait until the stove gets used again or just let any mess set on it. It will be much harder to get off later if you wait. Same thing with the microwave; Clean the mess now before it has an opportunity to harden.

Step 4 – Clean the Floor

The floor will not be difficult to clean if you wipe up spills as they happen instead of waiting. This is also a safety matter as well. Leaving spills on the floor can cause you or someone else to slip and fall causing potentially serious injury.

Following these brief tips can help you streamline kitchen cleaning and make the task much more pleasant.
